The Nextteq Butyl Acetate Tube No. NX116 provides direct measurement of butyl acetate from 10–400 ppm using a single 100 mL pump stroke and a pale-yellow-to-pale-blue color change (with the top of the discolored layer turning brown), with temperature correction required for accurate readings. With a 10 ppm detectable limit, a 1-year shelf life, and a 50–104°F operating range, this tube is well suited for workplace and process monitoring relative to the 50 ppm TLV-TWA and 150 ppm TLV-STEL guidelines, noting that esters, alcohols, and ketones can produce similar stains and higher readings, while aromatic hydrocarbons may turn the entire reagent pale brown.
