The Nextteq n-Butane Tube No. NX114 provides direct measurement of n-butane from 0.05–0.6% using a single 100 mL pump stroke and a clear orange-to-brown color change, with values read directly from the printed scale. With a 0.002% (20 ppm) detectable limit, a 3-year shelf life, and a 32–104°F operating range, this tube is well suited for process and leak monitoring relative to the 1,000 ppm TLV-STEL guideline, noting that toluene, hexane, and trichloroethylene can produce similar stains and lead to higher readings, while ethyl alcohol does not affect accuracy.
