The Nextteq n-Butyric Acid Tube No. NX102 provides direct measurement of n-butyric acid from 3–60 ppm using a single 100 mL pump stroke and a clear pale-pink-to-yellow color change, with the tube scale calibrated on acetic acid and n-butyric acid concentrations determined via a simple conversion chart. With a 3-year shelf life, a narrow 59–77°F operating range, and calibration by diffusion tube method, this tube is well suited for workplace and process monitoring of n-butyric acid, even though no TLV value is currently listed (TLV: N/A), noting that sulfur dioxide, acetic acid, and chlorine can produce similar or off-color stains and higher readings, while nitrogen dioxide at 300 ppm can make the stain endpoint difficult to discern.
